Grilled Corn on the Cob... Simple Recipe For FRESH Corn! Grilling Time Side Dish

IT'S HERE!!!

Fresh Corn on the Cob!  Not the early woody tough flavorless stuff, Not the out of season, who knows where it comes from (Corn on the cob in winter is just wrong)... But the fresh stuff.  The stuff you see roadside farmers selling their fresh pick from that day!

Juicy, sweet, incredible taste... Maybe 6-8 weeks worth but it's here now and deserves to be cooked like it is the ear of gold it really is!

OK... As with most grilling jobs, simple is best.

First step is to plan 1 hour ahead of time...

Peal back the husks and remove the hairy fur.  BUT, leave the husks connected at the base.
Next, fill a big pot of water (as tall as the corn), or I just fill the sink.  We have one of those double sinks, the smaller one works great for this, leaving the big one open for the other food prep or washing hands.  Fold the husks back and soak for 30 minutes to an hour.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT to get as much moisture in as possible.
OK... Now we can move to the grill...

Shake off the excess water, and grill over direct heat for 20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes.
I served this with hamburgers today.

Burgers only take about 5 minutes, pineapple takes about 10 and onions the same.  So be sure to put the corn on early so everything is done on time.

And that's it... Peel back the husks, pop off the base, wipe off any of the charred husks and serve with a little butter and salt...

KANSAS HEAVEN!
But I hear a few other states have pretty good corn too (pretty good, but not Kansas)

It comes out just glowing!

Sweet, Creamy Kernels...

Sweet Butter for a little flavoring

Salt to punch up the natural taste...

Add a Blue Cheese Hawaiian Burger and you have Summer Heaven!

Enjoy!
