Watermelon and Cantaloupe Pig Art Carved Fruit - Grilling Time Side Dish

Isn't he about the cutest thing you could imagine?

Recently "Fun" Aunt Jackie and "Reasonably Agreeable" Uncle Dave hosted a kids party (seemingly neverending as the adults went to one of those all day concerts).  The SEVEN Nieces and Nephews, aged 6 to 12 were great fun, great frustration, a great joy and a huge headache depending on what time of day it was.

My hats off to all you parents.

This little guy did a fantastic job of serving as a distraction for almost an hour.  Very easy, you can pretty much tell how and what was done by looking...

1/4th of the watermelon rind is completely cut out.  Use that rind to make the feet, eyes and nose.  I used blueberries for the nostrils and black eyes.

I used a melon baller to make balls of watermelon and also I used 2 Cantaloupes (also the meat cut out with the baller).  the ears and tail are just pink construction paper. Cut a slice into the rind and they will fit.

So... A little decoration, a little work and seven kids later... Fun with Uncle Dave!!!

This little guy would be a welcome guest at any BBQ, or how about a 4th of July Party!!!
